Morien holds royalty interests in two long-life, world-class, tidewater-accessed projects in Nova Scotia.

The Donkin Coal Mine in Cape Breton, on which Morien holds a scalable 2% to 4% gross production royalty, commenced production in 2017 and paid royalties to Morien prior to being idled in 2025. In July 2025, the owner and operator of Donkin announced its intention to explore a sale of the Mine.

The Black Point Aggregate Project in Guysborough County, permitted in 2016, remains one of the largest permitted hard rock aggregate projects in Atlantic Canada. Morien holds a production royalty on the project and continues to receive advanced minimum royalty payments as the project progresses toward a development decision.

Through its strategic alliance with Carver Companies, Morien also has the opportunity to earn royalty interests in additional aggregate projects currently being advanced, including the Lazy Head Aggregate Project in Guysborough County, which is progressing through environmental assessment and permitting.
